The Good Shephard Project
The Altar & Rosary Societies of Our Lady of Peace and St. Cecilia Church are embarking on a new project to make security blankets and dolls for the children at House of the Good Shepard in Utica. The first meeting will be held in the Nazareth Hall at Our Lady of Peace Church Tuesday, February 7 at 1:00PM. The second meeting will be held at St. Cecilia Church on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00PM Everyone wishing to participate in this project, whether able to sew or not, is welcome to help. If you are unable to attend the meetings or have questions regarding this project, please contact your parish office. Additional details to follow.

Altar and Rosary Meeting – Special Guest Speaker
All the women and friends of Our Lady of Peace are invited to the Altar and Rosary Society meeting Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00 PM Sister Ellen Lindsley, csj , will be our speaker. Sister’s topic will
be one of importance and guidance for all the women of our Parish. She has been a dedicated Sister for over 50 years and is currently serving in an Administrative capacity at St. Joseph’s Church in Camillus. Sister Ellen previously served at Our Lady of Good Counsel for many years and brought the spirit of God’s Love to all who knew her. Sister has a wonderful sense of humor and her presentation is sure to enjoyed by all who attend.
Spaghetti Supper and Bake Sale
There will be an all you can eat spaghetti supper and bake sale in the church basement Saturday October 29 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
The menu includes spaghetti, meat balls, salad, bread and butter, and beverages. Take outs are available. Adults: $8.00; Children 5-12: $5.00, Children under 5: Free. Be sure to stop by the Altar and Rosary Society’s bake sale tables for some delicious baked goods.
Altar & Rosary
The Altar & Rosary Society had a social gathering and “idea session” on Tuesday evening. Approximately 25 women attended and discussed how the Society could help increase the spirituality of it’s members and our parish members. Many great ideas were brought to the table and those who attended left with excitement for future meetings and functions. It was discussed that attending the upcoming Women’s Conference- “Through the Heart” , which is being presented by the Syracuse Diocese , would be a good way for the women of our parish to come together, socially and spiritually. This year the Conference is planned for Sat, October 29th, at the Oncenter. The program begins at 8:00 am for registration, 9:00 am Bishop Cunningham will say Mass, followed by 3 guest speakers, lunch and more. The Conference will conclude at 5:00 pm. Advance sale tickets (before Oct 1) are $45, however, Padre Amedeo has offered to assist with this cost. We would like to have a large representation from Our Lady of Peace and invite all of our women to consider attending this conference AND become part of the “enthusiastic spirit” of our Altar & Rosary Group. Please call the Parish Office—487-6832 before Sept. 28th to pre-register for the Conference or for more information. We welcome all gals “through the heart”!
