Of Interest to All

World Marriage Day Celebration

The 26th Annual World Marriage Day will be celebrated at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Syracuse on Sunday, February 12 at 2:00PM
Most Reverend Robert J. Cunningham will celebrate Mass and renew the marriage vows of all couples in attendance. Bishop Cunningham will honor couples
celebrating silver anniversaries, golden anniversaries and all celebrating an anniversary beyond 50 years in 2012. All couples are encouraged to attend.

The Third Option

“Rebuilding Trust in Marriage” Trust can erode or be broken but it can also be rebuilt. Sponsored by The Third Option, a program to build better marriages. We meet at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt Sunday, February 5 from 7:00 – 9:00PM. Walk-ins welcome. For more information call 472-6728.

Prayer Group

“Pathways to Prayer” Prayer Group meets the first and third Monday of each month at Christ the King Retreat Center, 500 Brookford Rd., Syracuse. The next meeting is Monday, February 6 from 9:30 – 10:30AM. ”Whenever two or three are gathered in My Name, there I am in their midst.” Come for just an hour of prayer. Bring a friend, linger awhile, walk the grounds. Free will offering accepted, but not required.

Special Guest Speaker

Mr. John Maestri will be sharing a slide presentation and discussion with our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and teachers in Nazareth Hall Sunday, February 12, 10:00 – 11:15AM

Mr. Maestri organized a clothes collection and then traveled to Haiti in July, 2010. He brought the clothes and assisted in the rebuilding efforts following the earthquake that devasted that country in January, 2010. All parishioners are welcome to attend this presentation.

No Children’s Mass

There will be no Children’s Mass Sunday, February 12. The new date will be announced at a later date.

Pancake Breakfast Thanks

The CYO group would love to say thank you to all the parents and people helping in the kitchen for our Pancake Breakfast last Sunday. And we would love to say thank you to Padre for letting us put on our first event for the CYO group to do all together. A special thanks especially to the supporters and all
the people that joined us for the Pancake Breakfast. We hope you enjoyed the service and the food. Thanks for all the support you gave us. Hopefully we can have another one and see you all again.

Our Lady of Peace Junior CYO is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast in Nazareth Hall Sunday, January 29 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 NOON

Tickets are only $5 each, and children under 5 are free. No takeouts, please.

Bear Hugs

Thank you to those children of Our Lady of Peace who participated in “Bear Hugs” at Fraiser School on December 21.
The Post Standard neglected to include our Faith Formation students as part of the event. We are proud of all our children.

First Friday Day of Retreat
